About Liz Hague

Artful Badger offers for sale pet portraits and creature cartoons (paintings, wooden and porcelain gifts) by Liz Hague.

Liz paints and ‘crafts’ from her home in the Peak District, Derbyshire. She has a passion for all creatures great and small and currently shares her home and gardens with 5 ex-stray cats, 6 rescue ducks, 4 rescue rabbits, 5 pet sheep, and a budgie.

Please note that Liz is not a rescue centre: excellent help and advice can be got from Ashbourne Animal Welfare (The Ark: 01335 300494) and The British Wildlife Rescue Centre (Amerton: 01889 271242).

Liz’s aim is to capture the beauty of animals through detailed drawings and paintings, and caricature the spirit of these creatures through quirky cartoon characters. Each work is a one-off because each is hand painted: this includes her craft items.

Liz’s objective is to make the customer happy through her unique paintings and drawings whilst making a fair wage and paying her taxes (the business is registered with HMRC).

Liz also gets involved in community and charity projects. She has painted pantomime scenery for Youlgrave pantomime for 5 years and on Easter Sunday did some face painting for the charity Macmillan at Haddon Hall. Examples of her face painting can be found on this site.
